Mr J.-P. Laflamme graduated from Laval University in December 1980 in electrical engineering with a specialization in electric power engineering. He subsequently pursued a 32 years career at Hydro-Quebec, one of the largest electric utility in Canada. He worked mainly in planning and maintenance of medium and low voltage electrical grids. He also worked some years on the electrical grid engineering.
During these years, Mr. Laflamme wrote several technical papers, many of which are now official Hydro-Quebec Distribution standards. He also performed numerous power quality analysis for Hydro-Quebec customers and therefore developed an extensive and comprehensive expertise in this area. Mr. Laflamme also has extensive experience with the grid analysis software CYMDIST, CYMTCC, and EMTP-RV. He also designed a low voltage analysis software which are now used by Hydro-Quebec engineering teams and by Hydro-Quebec subcontractor engineering firms.
